- Revising and Editing Practice Set 2 (Please see me in class for this assignment).
- Review answers to the most commonly missed questions. This will be graded based on whether you improved from last week's practice set (if you get the same grade, I'll take the same grade. If you get lower, I'll average the two grades. If you get higher, I'll take the higher of the two.)
T:
- Review all the stories we have read this year and brainstorm at least three possible essay prompts that could be written using themes from these readings.
- Outline 3 out of the 4 essay prompts listed in the PowerPoint below. One can be your own prompt. You can choose whichever ones you want as long as you use higher level examples from readings we've done, other literary examples, history, science, or current events and make sure you have COHESION (both examples "go" (belong) together). You may work with a partner.
W:
- Finish outlining essays and turn in at the end of class
TH:
- Go over test day (rooms, snacks, procedures, electronic devices, etc.)
- Please check your room assignment (there are spreadsheets in C, D, and E buildings)
- Read and TP-CASTT the poems "Barbie Doll" and "Shrinking Women" (See below; you can watch "Shrinking Women" at youtube at www.youtube.com/watch?v=zQucWXWXp3k). Expect a short answer tomorrow. If you need the TP-CASTT, you can borrow from a classmate or see me for notes.
F:
- Last STAAR review: Stinky Feet (Game)
- Best wishes on your STAAR test Monday!
