- Essay Introductions: Please make sure to get these notes on hooks/introduction paragraphs.
- Practice using each of the nine hooks described; pretend your topic is "Explain the necessary qualities/keys to success." Then, take one of your hooks and develop it into a complete introduction paragraph (USE THE FOUR STEPS FROM THE NOTES; Make sure your hook goes with your thesis). When you're done, post them on the whiteboard. This is your participation grade for the day.
